Nouveau Psychological Wellness is out-of-network for all insurance providers, meaning we are not paneled with any insurance plans. This means that you are responsible for the full cost of services at the time they are provided.

We can provide you with a Superbill (a receipt of payment with diagnostic and service codes) upon request, that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. 

We recommend checking with your insurance company prior to engaging in therapy or assessment services to clarify your out-of-pocket responsibilities, as we do not engage with insurance companies on your behalf.

We utilize Thrizer (for therapy services only) in order to facilitate easier claim processing for plans with out-of-network (OON) benefits (see Insurance Reimbursement for more information).

**NOTE: We are not able to provide Superbills for Medicaid, Medicare or Tricare recipients.

 However, many insurance plans offer out-of-network benefits, which can entitle plan holders to at least partial reimbursement for therapy and assessment services with the submission of an insurance-ready receipt. 

We will provide you with this receipt (also called a Superbill) upon request, which will contain all information needed to process your claim in the event you choose to submit for reimbursement. **NOTE: We cannot provide Superbills to Tricare or Medicare/Medicaid plan holders. 

Please check with your insurance prior to scheduling an intake to confirm that your plan is eligible for reimbursement for out-of-pocket costs for therapy or assessment services (typically PPO plans)! 

Here is a list of helpful questions to ask your insurance provider: 

• Do I have out-of-network benefits for mental/behavioral health?
• How much will I be reimbursed for a 50-minute (90834) or 60-minute session (90837) with a psychologist in Arlington, Virginia? 
• Are there any services or codes that are not covered or reimbursed?
• Do I have benefits for couples and/or family therapy? 
• Is there a difference in reimbursement rates for telehealth vs. in person services?
• Do I have to meet a deductible before I am eligible for out-of-network benefits? Is this deductible the same or separate from the deductible for medical visits (e.g., separate behavioral health deductible)?
• Is there a limit to the number of sessions for I can be reimbursed for, and/or do I need to obtain an authorization prior to seeking treatment?
• What documentation do I need to submit to receive reimbursement? Where/how do I submit these? Is there anything specific that I need to ensure is on the Superbills I receive (e.g., do they have to be signed by the provider and/or myself)?
